Welcome To Pioneers Leading The Way

Pioneers is an innovative scheme aimed at raising the educational attainment and achievements of young children reconnecting them with the world of education, or reinforcing their educational goals.

Pioneers provide volunteers to schools in the capacity of Role Model Mentors our mentors are individuals from various backgrounds, of different ages and have a variety of experiences.

The Mentors act as positive role models in order to inspire, support and encourage pupils, thus increasing their motivation in the school environment and their inclination to proceed to Higher Education themselves.

Our Mentors include students, graduates, housewives, professionals and unemployed individuals.  What they have in common is their desire and ability to make a difference by sharing their experiences, knowledge and maturity. The Mentors share a sense of giving back to their communities. Volunteers are given the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification; this is supported and facilitated by the Pioneers Team.

Pioneers are able to carry out CRB checks (Normal or Enhanced) on all of our volunteers, we also carry out checks for other organisations - Home Office Authorised Body for the CRB.

Pioneers also have gained the Approved Provider Standard - National Mentoring and Befriending Foundation.

Pioneers have been approved to deliver work experience placements for young people - Birmingham and Solihull Education Business Links
